Understanding Cellulite

  • Cellulite Formation:
  • Cellulite is a condition where fat cells push through the connective tissue beneath the skin. The subcutaneous layer of fat lies below the skin on top of a layer of fascia ( fascia is a collagen-based sheet of connective tissue.) There are vertical, fibrous cords connecting the fascia to the skin. There are also arteries and veins running through this superficial fat layer. When the structure of this superficial layer becomes disturbed (via inflammation, estrogen, aging, trauma, edema, oxidative stress, decreased blood flow, fat cell enlargement ) the fascia, fibrous cords, skin, and fat cells lose the organized structure.

  • Contributing Factors of Structural Changes:
  • Disturbance of energy homeostasis IN THE BODY is regulated by the chronobiology (BIOLOGICAL RYTHMS) of adipocytes through the mechanisms of lipogenesis and lipolysis.

Increased Lipolysis And Decreased Adipogenesis

Significantly enhances the synthesis of the coenzymes involved in the anabolic process of reducing adipose tissue. Increased synthesis of these energy transporting coenzymes, NAD, and NADP, increases lipolysis by increasing the oxidation of adipose tissue. Has an inhibitory effect on adipogenesis and down-regulates the expression of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) and other transcription factors implied in the expression of genes involved in the development of preadipocytes into adipocytes.  Mobilizes fat stores from white adipose tissue aids in the hydrolysis of triglycerides and free fatty acids to the mithochondria of the cell for the production of ATP.

Stimulates cell metabolism and actively promotes the hydrolysis of triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol, thus reducing adipose storage. This is particularly useful in the cellulitis phenomenon where, due to an alteration of the microcirclation, adipocytes are stimulated to synthesize and accumulate higher amounts of triglycerides, resulting in an increase of the cell size. Increases lipolysis by inhibiting the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase, which is responsible for catalysing the conversion of cyclic AMP to AMP. The resulting high tissue concentrations of cyclic AMP activate inactive hormone-sensitive lipase and promote lipolysis. Glaucine in CELLUWAY TRIPLEX
is a molecule capable of stimulating lipolysis and inhibits the emergence of the new fat cells. This results in a visible reduction of the appearance of “orange-peel skin” and restoration of the skin’s firmness.

Increased Lymphatic Drainage, Detoxification, and Decreased Inflammation

The cleansing action of CELLUWAY TRIPLEX stimulates the lymphatic system, reducing the volume of fluid built up in the subcutaneous tissue. The powerful antioxidant effect of CELLUWAY TRIPLEX prevents oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Blocks NFK-B signalling and pro inflammatory mediators thereby reducing inflammation.   CELLUWAY TRIPLEX COCKTAIL, working in perfect synergy with CELLUWAY TRIPLEX ENHANCE, contains YOHOMBINE that improves circulation, drains the body’s fat cells and tightens and tones the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
